The Tournamant of Roses Parade, Pasadena, CA.

We got to check off another item on our bucket list, when we attended the Rose Parade. We drove to Pasadena the day before and checked into the Hilton Garden Inn in Montebello. We did a dry run to our assigned parking spot for the parade and saw the grandstand where will would sit. At 2 p.m., an entire day before the parade, thousands of people lined the streets with their chairs, sleeping bags, and we even saw one guy with a mattress. We then drove over to the Rose Bowl and got to see three floats being completed. The Roy Rogers float was done, his three daughters were there greeting everyone who said hello. This was the special float to mark Roy’s 100th birthday celebration. It was beautiful. We saw the three buses pull in with the Oregon Ducks football team and we got to see a car show with lots of very nicely restored cars. The next morning we drove to the parking area, which was two blocks from our seats. We got to our seat early, ready for the parade, and what a parade it was. Great bands, beautiful floats, a number of teams of horses that were beautifully adorned. We had a great time, just super!
