Golden Village Palms Resort, Hemet, California

We are at Golden Village Palms Resort for the next five months, November 1-March 31.  We are enjoying the cool weather, days in the low to mid 70's and nights in the upper 40's.  This resort has a lot to offer.  So far Debbie plays billiards (8 ball) with the ladies Mondays and Fridays.  We both go to one of the 3 pools everyday and 3 Jacuzzis at night.  We have volleyball courts, water volleyball, indoor shuffleboard at the California Shuffleboard Hall of Fame, a putting green, a book and video library, with computers too.  We have several card rooms for playing all kinds of card games, a ballroom for dances and shows.  We have an exercise facility and a laundromat. In the mornings we have low impact water excersise.  Last week we had a concert with the Mighty Cash Cats, a group that sounds quite a bit like Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash.  We also have Western Night, the Pasadena Boys Choir, a Jimmy Buffet and  a Beatles Imitators group coming soon.  We have jam sessions, free wine & cheese parties every friday, and volunteer appreciation meetings. We also have "fun night" when we get together to play games and share hors dorves, pot luck suppers, Friday breakfasts, and Saturday barbeques at the pool.  Deb and I both volunteer, Deb as an ambassador to welcome newcomers the day after they arrive, me as security at the front gate for two hours a week, and we both volunteer to work a few hours at the concerts, as ticket takers or working in the kitchen, getting snacks out.  When you volunteer, you get in the concerts for free.  There are also many bus trips upcoming to casinos, historical sites, plays, and museums, and shopping in Mexico to name a few. There is so much more to do here and we have made so many new friends.  So much to do, so little time!
