Well, where do I begin.  It has been 11 days since I posted last and we have traveled 500 more miles north and stayed in  2 different cities.  We left Lansing and headed to Holland.  Wow, what a lovely city.  Just as the name suggests, wooden shoes,  Dutch Village and Windmill.  While in Holland I took my first Sand Dune ride.  Boy, did I enjoy that.  I was even more surprised no sand in my face and or course none in my shoes.  We took a motorcoach tour to Gerald Ford Presidential Museum then lunch at the Grand Rapids Brewing Company then on to one of the most beautiful sculpture gardens I have seen.

After 5 days in Holland we traveled further north to Traverse City just in time for the National Cherry Festival.   Everything was made with cherries.  We did the Cherry Pancake Breakfast Saturday morning then stayed for  the Air Show with included the Thunderbirds.  Now that was impressive as to how they can fly that fast and be in control.    Since we were staying in Traverse City 6 days we had alot of trips planned.  We took a motorcoach to the old fishing village of Leland.  There we saw the lighthouse and museum.  On our way back we stopped at a Cherry Orchard for some wine tasting. Yes, we had some Cherry wine, and no I did not buy any of that.  Actually I did not like it but did buy some of their Riesling.  Now that was good.  The next day we went to a Native American Pow Wow.
Then off for some Family owned and operated Ice Cream store.  Named Moomers Ice Cream.  Now that was the way to end the day...   Ice cream was delicious.  During our free day we went to the Music House Museum.  That was very impressive.  Wait to see the pictures.

Well, we have arrived in Sault Ste. Marie for 3 days.  So my next post will show you all of that city.

Below are some of my pictures along the way and towns we visited.  I hope you like them as much as I did seeing and taking them.....

Yes, our trip in now 1/2 over and I am like a little kid.... More please More please......

Lansing Michigan

Hey, here we are in Lansing Michigan, their state capitol.   The place we visited to day along with Michigan State College and of course their famous Dairy Store.   We took a tour of the city which I did take some pictures showing a few places.

Now I bet you can not guess the name of the Michigan States foot ball team is............
The Lug Nuts
And on top of one of the cell towers is a lug nut.   Since this is a motor city they said it
was appropriate...

Detroit Motown

Well, today started out to be a early day.  Awaken by the sounds of tornado sirens.  Yes, tornado sirens.  Here we go again.  When Vince and I started our full time adventure we spent a lot of time in campground bathrooms or heading in opposite directions to which a tornado was headed.  I stayed in the showers with other people until 3 am until the tornado sirens stopped and the weather slowed down enough to get back to my RV.  Well, I should of known that all the water would be around your RV and steps.  6 inches deep to be exact so I take my shoes off to walk the walk back to the RV.  Now it is after 3 am when I get back into my dry bed and now I still have to listen to my weather radio telling me that there are still strong winds and rain in the are.  Yes, I left it on could not turn it off afraid I would miss the warnings it gave.  Well, finally around 4 am I fell asleep to have to be up and ready to go at 7:45 am.
Well, today was a long but really fun day.  We were motor coached to the Ford Rouge Assembly Plant of the F150 Trucks.   The Coney Island restaurant, the famous Motown Museum and a tour of downtown Detroit with a stop at the General Motors Corp offices.

Ohio Visit

Today I am leaving my temporary home in Medina, Ohio to hook up with the RV caravan that I will be traveling with for 32 days in the state of Michigan.  It is always a happy sad day to leave a place that you have spent with family and friends.  I have been able to spend time with my family eating foods of my childhood, getting to spend time with 2nd generation cousins that I really did not have the privileged to know very well before this visit.   Getting to see your old neighborhood and have lunch with classmates you spent many years with learning how to grow up.  Getting to spend time just bumming around with friends going to Amish country and eating food of that culture   Yes, bittersweet, but now on to the next journey in Michigan for 32 days.

Darien, Ga.

Today starts my next journey in life with out Vince.  I loaded up the new (Baby) 5th wheel with things I will need for 12 weeks to start my travels.  For my first destination my sister Donna accompanied me as we were going to Greenville, SC for my nephew Matt's wedding.  We will meed up with the family and spend 5 days there then I take off solo to Ohio, Mich. and New York.

Took us 6 hours with a few potty stops and lunch.  I even backed in a truck stop between two trucks
with out any problem.  We arrived at our first stop at Inland Harbor RV Park in Darien, Ga.   What a nice park.  Very well maintain and cozy.  Great overnight choice.   Well I know I will sleep good
tonight knowing that I did good and I know that Vince would be proud of what I did today.......
My first back in truck stop (  The trucks that were beside me have left before pic taken)

Salem, Oregon

THIS WAS VINCE'S LAST POST THAT NEVER GOT PUBLISHED.  I JUST FOUND THIS AS
A DRAFT.   I was reviewing our blog so I could familiarize myself with how to post and insert pictures. (Vince always did this job, as he was a great story teller).  Next week I will start a new adventure for 12 weeks so stay tune, hopefully I will be as interesting as my WONDERFUL late husband Vince was.   Miss you Honey!

We are in Salem, Oregon (July 2014) at the Hee Hee Ilahee Tribal RV Resort. It is a beautiful campground with concrete pads, grassy sites with new picnic tables and all the amenities.  The pool is open and heated to 80, but the hot tub was broken.  For that reason, we were given a 20% discount.  We got some food shopping, clothing shopping, truck wash, and laundry done one day.  We also went to one of the most awesome aviation museums in the country.  We went to the Evergreen Aviation Museum, home of the "Spruce Goose", Howard Hughes wooden aircraft, the largest wooden plane ever built.  Along with a hundred planes, replicas, space capsules and rockets, it is spread across 3 huge buildings and some planes dot the landscape.  This is a place you don't want to miss when near Portland.  It is located in McMinnville.
